What a magnanimous gesture by Fox News' Bill O'Reilly last night! After two nights of allowing disgruntled gossipers slice and dice Sarah Palin via Campaign Carl, Bill made the "offer" that Sarah come on his show next week to give her side of the story. She can have the whole show, he exclaimed, as if he were doing her a grand and wonderful favor. What a guy!
I mean, I'm sure he's not doing this for selfish reasons, right? We are all quite aware that she is a TV ratings magnet, setting all kinds of ratings blowouts where ever she appears (RNC convention speech, VP debate, SNL, Hannity & Colmes, you name it). And O'Reilly has brought up on more than one occasion how irritated he was at not being able to have her on the show during the campaign. But last night, he defended the airing of these rumors by saying he was simply reporting the "news" and this was a "big story."
Sarah has caught enough fish in her life to recognize stink bait when she sees it. I hope she continues to remain above the fray as even the "fair and balanced" folks at Fox try to entice her onto their network for one more chance to score big ratings at her expense.
